Musical Monday # 163

Image
I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site. I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.  I’ll be finding my clips on you tube , so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist. Today’s clip is: Billy Idol White Wedding and a live version for those who'd like to see it

Sunday Selections # 338

Welcome back to Sunday Selections. Begun way back in the mist of time by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock and now continued by me, with a drastic relaxation of rules. Originally meant for showcasing old photos lost on your files, never seeing the light of day, the meme has morphed into photos of your choice, new or old, good or not-so-good, anything you please, but nothing rude please. If you are participating, please leave me a comment so I can buzz along and have a look. Elephant's Child always participates, and her pictures are always worth seeing. Let's continue last week's walk I love this cute little kitty taking a shower  also love this little boy and his puppy  and the car filled with tiny bears. a yin-yang totem pole! donkey and cart this pretty pink flower is just one of many, way, way up high. I didn't remember this bush being variegated and when I touched a leaf, I discovered it was paint that flaked off wherever I touched. Earl

Why is it so? asks Professor Julius Sumner-Miller

Why is it tears can fall as endlessly as a waterfall? Where do they all come from? Why is it a heart painfully breaking into a million pieces continues to beat steady and strong? Why is it my Angel can disappear so completely it's as if he never existed?

Wednesday's Words on a Friday

The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write, a story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along and read it. This month the words are again supplied by Delores and can be found here . This week's words are: 1. dominant 2. carpet 3. magazine 4. duster 5. finicky 6. display and/or: 1. carbine 2. boots 3. tactical 4. determination 5. filthy 6. disgusting and/or "maniacal megalomaniac" Here is my very short story: "Look at this magazine picture. See how they've used the dominant colour from the carpet pattern to dictate the rest of the decor? Everything blends in." "And it looks like a show room in a display house. Totally impersonal. Everything matching and colour co-ordinated is so fifties. No-one does

Thursday Thoughts # 102

Quote: "The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The next best time is today" Q: what do you call a diminutive psychic who has escaped from jail? A: A small medium at large. Here's a couple of articles from last week's newspapers: "Use-by date eggstended It may taste like it was cooked this morning, but that egg in your shop-bought sandwich or salad could be up to 26 days old. The eggs are being boiled in bulk in factories and pasteurised to kill bacteria, which means they will last for weeks. Packs of scrambled, poached and even ready-made fried eggs are also being made on production lines and supplied frozen to pubs and restaurants. Eggs sales are booming as they are viewed as healthy and have become a mainstay of popular protein-based diets." The above (and below) have been copied just as they appeared in the paper. The bold italics are my idea. I bet right now all of you are thinking about going back to buying fresh eggs and cooking th

I was wandering around with my camera, looking for Angel, and this is what I saw: the white cedar tree is so heavy with berries this year, I'm going to avoid walking under it when they start dropping. It would be like trying to walk on marbles. this magpie was warbling so prettily, then>> he took off, desperately trying to escape from the crow that had chased him out of the tree. I watched for quite a while and that

Our relatives had finally gone home after a ten day visit, during which my sister Marion had told me every single

Here we go: I've been marking the calendar as each day passes without Angel, yesterday was day 26, and look what else, "boob squish". That's right, yesterday was mammogram day. Ouch. I've made a new curtain for my bedroom, black lace, over a sparkly aqua background, with a "frill" at the bottom.  This is actually stretchy dance costume fabric, tricky to sew, and the "frill" is a

Recently my internet friend Murr posted about her lack of eyebrows, wondering where they'd gone, so I wondered if mine were still visible to others. I can see them, because I know where they are, but is that the only reason they're visible? Can others see them too? And because my hair was actually behaving nicely for a change, I got out the camera and headed to the mirror. I copied Andrew 's camera in front of the face style. nice waves there, and eyebrows too. You can see them, right? I'm not delusional? still got some colour mixed in with the grey on this side, and there's that eyebrow again. two days ago, this hair was sticking up wildly in all directions, it has a mind of its own. looking a bit silvery here.
